ST. LOUIS — Volunteers are being asked to help sandbag around the power plant at Mark Twain Lake in northeast Missouri.
The United Way of Greater St. Louis says volunteers can report to the project office north of the dam in Ralls County. They are asked to bring shovels, gloves, sturdy shoes and sunscreen.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says heavy rains continue to make it necessary to release massive amounts of water from the lake to the Salt River.
