FALCON — The Missouri State Water Patrol says a 52-year-old Lebanon man has drowned in the Gasconade River, the state’s second rope-swing drowning in less than a week.

Divers pulled the body of Marion Anthony from the river after 11 p.m. Thursday, about three hours after he jumped from a rope swing into the water near Falcon in Laclede County. He went underwater and did not resurface.

Friends sent for help and then dove into the water in a vain attempt to save Anthony’s life.

On Sunday, 23-year-old Jason Corbin of Raymore drowned after he jumped from a rope swing into the Sac River in southwest Missouri.
