Columbia man is sentenced to prison on child porn charges

COLUMBIA — Raymond Darrell Ford, 49, of Columbia was sentenced Thursday to 20 years in prison without parole for distributing child pornography.

U.S. District Judge Scott O. Wright sentenced Ford.

Ford had pleaded guilty on Jan. 31.

According to a news release from office of John F. Wood, U.S. attorney for the Western District of Missouri, Ford addmited that on June 20, 2007, he sent 13 images to an undercover officer he thought was a 14-year-old girl. The images showed acts of violence and involved children under the age of 12.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lawrence E. Miller prosecuted the case, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force, the Missouri State Technical Assistant Team and the Columbia Police Department investigated the crime.
