Columbia Police issue warrants for two suspects in gas station shooting

COLUMBIA — Columbia Police have issued warrants for the arrest of two suspects in a May 31 shooting at a gas station in which a man was shot in the mouth.

Police have sought warrants for the arrest of William R. Boyd, 20, and Diondre J. Cooper, 19, on charges of felony unlawful use of a weapon. According to police, both suspects are considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

“Through the course of the investigation, the surveillance tape and witnesses helped to identify these two men,” said Sgt. Ken Hammond.

One arrest has already been made in connection with the incident at the PetroMart at 3300 Falling Leaf Lane near the intersection of U.S. 63 and Grindstone Parkway. Hammond said there were several dozen people at the scene of the shooting.

Tyrius D. Williams, 24, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of felony unlawful use of a weapon, said Capt. Brad Nelson. Police said that Williams, a friend of the man shot in the mouth, fired at a car fleeing the shooting scene.

Williams was being held in the Boone County Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
