COLUMBIA — Burglars made off with about $30,000 worth of electronics and jewelry from a Columbia home May 15.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department responded at 4 p.m. to a house on the 6000 block of Scott Boulevard to investigate a possible burglary, Detective Tom O’Sullivan said.

The homeowners returned to find several home electronics missing as well as valuable jewelry, O’Sullivan said.

The burglars entered through an unlocked door, O’Sullivan said.

The Sheriff’s Department is investigating a string of burglaries in the Midway area that occurred earlier this week, but said that this burglary is not connected.

“I am quite confident that this burglary has nothing to do with the other three,” O’Sullivan said.

Investigators came up with inconclusive suspect information after examining the home.

Anyone with information about the burglary should contact the Boone County Sheriff’s Department at 875-1111 or CrimeStoppers at 875-TIPS.
