The Missouri baseball team was overtaken by Texas Tech 15-11 on Sunday in Lubbock, Texas. With the scored tied at 11 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Red Raiders first baseman Doug Thennis hit a walk-off grand slam.
Missouri had been leading by three runs at the top of the seventh, but the Tigers’ bullpen gave up 11 runs over the last three innings, six coming in the ninth. Starter Kyle Gibson lasted only five innings for the Tigers (20-5), giving up seven hits and four runs.
Six Tigers players had multiple hits, with center fielder Ryan Lollis claiming three RBIs and left fielder Aaron Sene adding two RBIs.
Texas Tech improved to 14-12.
The Tigers play Western Illinois at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Taylor Stadium.
