OZARK — A Kansas City man wanted for a parole violation was arrested on suspicion that he led police on a highway chase through three cities in southwest Missouri before his SUV was stopped.

The Christian County Sheriff’s office said Paul William Pounders faces charges including resisting arrest after the chase Saturday night through Nixa, Springfield and Ozark.

Authorities said the chase started when deputies spotted a white Ford Explorer that was being sought for leaving the scene of an accident in Nixa.

The vehicle did not stop. It led deputies on a chase to Springfield and then Ozark, where spike strips flattened three of its tires.

The vehicle kept driving on its rims and a deputy rammed it to spin the car, bringing it to a halt.
